The annual British Hairdressing Business Awards 2017 took place on Monday 11th September at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel. At Secret Hair Extensions HQ, we had been awaiting the awards with bated breath. After following the awards on social media for some years, we decided to attend the BHBA 2017 and experience the ‘buzz’ for ourselves. Plus, we were thrilled to announce that Secret Hair Extensions were an official sponsor and would be presenting the Marketing Award!

The British Hairdressing Business Awards are to celebrate the salons that stand out from the crowd. Whether this is due to revolutionary products, interior or exceptional styling. The Hairdressers Journal International judges pay close attention to detail to find worthy winners. Mark Maloney, Managing Director of Hairdressers Journal explained that the awards sum up what this industry is all about. Mark commented, “Tonight we honour the people who deliver for their customers day in and day out by being better managers, employees, marketers and striving to give the best possible experience.”

The Secret Hair Extensions team attended with our Brand Ambassador/Celebrity Stylist Carl Bembridge, and Celebrity Stylist Jamie Hall.

The night started with a drinks reception, where we had the opportunity to meet some of the industry’s most influential figures including Errol Douglas MBE and Lee Stafford.

We had the privilege of awarding the Marketing Award. This award went to Not Another Salon. This groundbreaking salon with a ‘no judgment policy’ creating a salon that takes the intimidation out of going to get your hair done. ‘Not Another Salon’ define themselves as “a bunch of misfits” who came together to create gorgeous hair and to spread the idea “that is is in fact ‘cool’ to be kind.”

We really recommend you take a look at this salon and its staff. They really put individuality back into hair styling, the interior is bright, colorful, welcoming and fun….just like the stylists who work there. It was an honour to be able to present them with this award!
